Obituary of Bonnie L. Potter

Bonnie Lou Potter, age 59, of Meat Camp Road, Todd, went peacefully to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, April 16, 2011 following a courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie Lou was born November 8, 1951 in Watauga County to Ted and Anner Mains Potter. She attended the Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Rock Creek and retired from Shadowline where she worked for thirty-two years. Bonnie loved the Lord and will be missed by many friends, neighbors and family. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit and caring nature. Miss Potter is survived by three sisters, Pearlee and Emmer Potter and Nell Proffitt, all of Todd; and two brothers, Ervin Potter and wife, Zelma, of Todd, and Coolidge Potter of Meadowview, VA.. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alverdie Reece and Lydia Belle Moretz and three brothers, Hoover, Boyd and Ted Potter. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2011, at 2 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Phipps. The body will lie in state at the chapel from 1 until 2 o'clock. Burial will follow in the Potter-Main Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Austin & Barnes. At other times, the family will be at the home.
