David Carl Miller, age 85, of Hwy 194 North, Boone, died Thursday evening, April 14, 2011 at his home. Born February 25, 1926 in Boone, he was a son of Walter Clyde and Zennie Davis Miller. Carl was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was a former employee of the Town of Boone and for the past fifteen years worked for Watauga County as an attendant at the Green Valley Container site.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mozell Fouts Miller; his daughter, Tina Marie Miller and granddaughter, Tabatha Michelle Price, both of Boone.
Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted Sunday afternoon, April 17, 2011 at 3 o'clock at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Wayne Ratcliff and Rev. Virginia Peurifoy. Friends may call at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Saturday from 11 AM until 2 PM and Sunday from 11 AM until 1:30PM.
