Obituary of Angela C. McCoury

Angela Withrow McCoury, formerly Angela Church, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Watauga Medical Center. She was born May 29, 1965 in Oxnard, CA. Angela is survived by her parents, Jarrell David �Jerry� Withrow and Wilma Jean Cole Withrow of Four Oaks, NC; a daughter, Jenny Nicole Church, a son, Jon Kenneth Church, and husband Grover Cleveland �Cleve� McCoury, III, all of the home. One brother, David Withrow and wife, Lisa, also survive her; a niece, Hannah, and a nephew, Cole, as well as many special aunts, uncles and cousins. Additional survivors include her father-in-law, Grover Cleveland McCoury, Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Patricia McCoury and husband, John, and Karen Boyer and husband, Richard. Angela graduated from South Johnston High School in Benson, NC. She continued her education at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute and Appalachian State University. Angela was a respected professional with North Carolina Farm Bureau. She served her clients as an insurance agent for the past sixteen years, and served her community through various civic organizations, charitable contributions, and youth educational and athletic sponsorships. Angela was an accomplished writer and pianist, a member of Cornerstone Summit Church, and a devoted wife, mother and friend. Her generosity was beyond compare, her hospitality second to none, and her cooking ability was what TV food shows are made of. She was a blessing to so many and will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Greenway Baptist Church in Boone. Receiving family and friends will immediately follow the service until 5 PM.
