Mrs. Mildred Townsend Barry, age 93, of Charlotte died Wednesday night, December 15, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Born May 11, 2917 in Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Alice Davis Townsend. Mrs. Barry was a homemaker.
She is survived by one brother; Robert Townsend and wife Ellen of Boone and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Joe Barry, one sister; Lucille Draughon and one half brother; Bynum Townsend.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Townsend Barry will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. R. D. Watson. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Matney-Liberty Cemetery. The family respectfully requests no food or flowers and suggests memorials to Alzheimer�s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drove, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
