Obituary of Bill Bentley

Mr. Bill N. Bentley, age 78, of Old Clayton Greene Road, Boone, died Tuesday evening, December 7, 2010 at home. Born July 28, 1932 in Watauga County, he was a son of the late David and Nancy Lawrence Bentley. Mr. Bentley was a retired equipment operator and a US Navy Veteran. Bill was member and Deacon at Central Assembly of God. He is survived by his wife; Frances Townsend Bentley, three sons; David Bentley and wife Anita of Mountain City, Don Bentley and wife Elizabeth of Lenoir and Mark Bentley of Boone, one daughter; Sandra Kincaid and husband Buddy of Lenoir, five sisters; Betty Taylor of Foscoe, Pat Penley and husband Bill of Lexington, Bobbie Winebarger and husband Jerry of Lenoir, Nancy Greer and husband Charles of Boone and Phyllis Moretz and husband Jerry of Boone, two brothers; Jerry Bentley and wife Sylvia of Myrtle Beach, SC and Eddie Dean Bentley and wife Nancy of Boone, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son; Herby Bentley and one grandson; Jason Bentley. Funeral services for Mr. Bill N. Bentley will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Central Assembly of God. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Bristle and Rev. Chuck Bristle. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 at the Central Assembly of God.
