Dorothy Holland �Dot� Watlington passed away on November 25, 2010. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Malchus and Mamie Hair Holland. She attended Peace College, and during WWII worked for Mason & Hanger and Hercules Powder Company in Radford, VA, where she met her husband of over 50 years, Henry C. Watlington. While living in Kinston, NC, she served as a volunteer at Caswell Training School. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Boone, NC. She is survived by her sister, Athalea Corns of Raleigh, NC, her son Malchus Watlington and daughter-in-law Amanda Watlington of Charlestown, MA and nieces Becky Hurwitz of Toronto, ON and Athalea Seibel of Annapolis, MD and nephews Darryl and Jeff Massey of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by her friends and caregivers June Weber, Ken and Carolyn Shull, Graydon and Carolyn Eggers and Ben and Lois Strickland whose love and support made her shine in reflected light. A memorial service is scheduled for 2PM on December 17, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Boone. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o�clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life, in care of Glenda Hodges, 810 Parkcrest Drive, Boone, NC 28607 or to the First Baptist Church, 875 West King Street, Boone, NC 28607.
