Obituary of Millard George M. Potter

Mr. George M. Potter, age 77, of Villa Drive, Vilas, died Thursday afternoon at Watauga Medical Center.
He is survived by six sisters; Grace Potter and Joyce Godsey both of Vilas, Rose Osborne of Zionville, Gladys Cole and husband Danny of Lenoir, Alease Tuttle and Iva Lee Benett and husband Tommie all of High Point, three brothers; Jimmy Potter of Vilas, Steve Potter and wife Daris of Mountain City, and Austin Potter and wife Burnice of Boone, two aunts; Ruby Hampton and Beulah Storie both of Boone and one uncle; Tracy Norris and wife Ruby of Florida, and special friends John and Myrtle Brown of Mountain City. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Jacob Fate and Orpha Norris Potter.
Funeral services for Mr. George Potter will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Terry Lewis and Rev. Billy Jones. Burial will follow in the Willow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made the Potter family in care of Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
