Mrs. Clara Jean Moretz. Dancey, age 74, of Howards Creek Road, Boone, died Saturday morning, November 6, 2010 at Glenbridge Health Care & Rehabilitation. Born July 21, 1936 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Glen Robert and Nell McNeil Moretz. Mrs. Dancey was retired from Shadowline. She was an active member of Rich Mountain Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by one daughter; Debra Dancey Bodsford of Kannapolis, one son; David Glenn Dancey of Boone, one sister; Irma Lee Pennell and husband Johnny of Boone, three grandchildren; Rachel and Matthew Bodsford both of Kannapolis and Meghan Dancey of Rising Sun, Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Arris Dancey, one sister; Alma Rachel Moretz and one brother; Jack McNeil.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Jean Moretz Dancey will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 13 at 2 o�clock at the Rich Mountain Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Carter Moretz and Rev. James Hagaman. Burial will follow in the Skyland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home from 7 o�clock until 9 o�clock. At other times friends may call at the home of Johnny and Irma Pennell, 4620 Howards Creek Road, Boone.
