Obituary of William C. Calloway

William Cling Calloway, age 70, of South Pine Run Road, Boone, died Friday evening, October 22, 2010 at the Watauga Medical Center. Born July 3, 1940 in the Foscoe community, he was a son of Julius and Sabra Ward Calloway. Mr. Calloway was employed with the Uniform Rental Company in Winston-Salem for more than 35 years. He is survived by three sisters, Mae Belle Reid of Winston-Salem, Mary Sadie Ward and Iva June Wagner, both of Boone; four brothers, Albert Calloway and wife, Marie, of Valle Crucis, Frank Calloway and wife, Dorothy, of Winston-Salem, Steve Calloway of Virginia Beach, VA and J. C. Calloway and wife, Jane, of Winston-Salem; and half- brother, Gary Presnell of Conover. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Goldie Parks, Norma Jean Tubyfill and Wanda Sue Calloway, and two brothers, Robert and Denver Calloway. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, October 26, 2010 at 11 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Delmar James and Rev. Bill Hayden. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10 until 11 o'clock, one hour prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Burial will follow in the Calloway Cemetery.
