Obituary of Eula G. Greene

Eula G. Greene, age 89, of Big Hill Road, Boone, died Friday evening, October 22, 2010 at the Watauga Medical Center. Born February 11, 1921 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of Joseph and Nettie McGuyre Greene. Mrs. Greene was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Eula's passion in life was her church, her family, her flower garden and her hand-tied bed canopies. Mrs. Greene is survived by her son, Delmas Greene and wife Polly of Clearwater, FL., three grandchildren, Lynn Dawson and husband Matt, of Atlanta, GA., Christina Densmore and husband, Tom, of Kissimmee, FL and David Greene of Clearwater, FL; two great-grandchildren, Erin and Megan Dawson, both of Atlanta, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews, including niece, Elsie Hodgson and husband, Bernard, and great-niece, Jeanette Lyons and husband, Jim, all of Boone, and Janice Driscoll and husband, Ed, of Oak Hill, VA, and great nephew, Barney Hodgson and wife, Diane, of Boone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Alonzo Greene, six brothers, two sisters, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, October 25, 2010 at 11 o'clock at Bethany Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor John Bollinger and Pastor Harwood Smith. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10 until 11 o'clock, one hour prior to services, at the church. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
