Obituary of Paul P. Smith

Paul Patrick Smith, age 62, of Boulder Ridge Trail, Banner Elk, NC passed away after a courageous battle with cancer of October 13, 2010 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He is the son of the late Paul P. Smith and Edith Smith of Toms River, NJ. He was a self employed Thoroughbred Trainer and owner of River Run Farm in Valle Crucis, NC and Camden, SC. And the former owner of Vintage Acres Farm in Ocala Florida. Survivors include his wife Robin Kathleen Smith, one sister; Patricia (Patty) Stranc of Delavan, WI, and nephews; Gary Stranc and Jeffrey Stranc both of Wisconsin and one niece; Dr. Lisa Stranc Bliss of Washington state. Mass service will be held Saturday October 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 259 Pilgrim's Way, Boone, NC 28607. Officiating will be Father Joe Mulligan officiating. Following the service a memorial service in celebration of Paul's life will be held at Villa Sorrento's in Banner Elk.
