Obituary of Beecher M. Cornett

Beecher Mull Cornett, 67, of Hattie Hill Road, Vilas, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Watauga Medical Center. He was born Sept. 25, 1943 in Watauga County to Harley Marvin and Doxie Ward Cornett. Mr. Cornett was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. He was a carpenter, mechanic, and wood craftsman. Beecher loved nature and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vada Trivette Cornett; one sister, Annie Helberg of Wakefield, Michigan and two brothers, Bill Cornett and wife, Gladys, of Vilas, and Steve Cornett and wife, Judy, of Mountain City, Tenn.
Many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clinard, Grover, and Dewey Cornett, three sisters, Maxine Burns, Dixie Taylor and Leta Apke, nephews, Brian Cornett and David This, and niece, Margaret Livingston.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 9, at 2 o'clock at Green Valley Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Eric Cornett, Rev. Steve Cornett, Rev. Andy Lunceford and Rev. David Lunceford.
Burial will follow in the Trivette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 8:30 at Austin & Barnes.
