Edward Merceron 'Ned' Stuart, age 82, of Misty Ridge Lane, Blowing Rock, died peacefully Sunday evening, August 14, 2010 at the Watauga Medical Center in Boone. He was born January 26, 1928 in New York, NY to Edward Merceron Stuart, Sr. and Dorothy Townsend Stuart. Mr. Stuart served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a national sales manager for Black & Decker after 39 years. Ned was a member of Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Rotary Club of Blowing Rock.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Barbara Hills Stuart; one daughter, Susan Davis and husband, Chris, of Duluth, Georgia; one son, Don Stuart and wife, Cindy, of Dacula, Georgia; five grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Scot Davis and wife, Megan, Jonathan Stuart and wife, Julie, Stephany Waters and husband, Ricky, and Whitney Davis; and one great-grandson, Nathan Edward Stuart. Ned touched many lives and will remain always in our hearts.
Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, August 17th at 1 o'clock at Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church in Blowing Rock, officiated by Pastor Lynn Stall. A reception will follow services in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Rotary Club of Blowing Rock, Post Office Box 1300, Blowing Rock, NC 28605.
