Obituary of Annie C. Brewer

August 6, 2010 Mrs. Annie Cole Brewer, 85 years young of 211 Milton Brown Heirs Road, Boone, died Thursday evening, August 5, 2010. She was born in Watauga County June 5, 1925 to Bessie Miller Cole and George Marshall Cole, of Brownwood Road, Deep Gap, NC. Mrs. Brewer a life long resident of Boone was an active charter member of Greenway Baptist Church. She retired with 31 years of service to Appalachian State University. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter L. Brewer. Mrs. Brewer is survived by one son, William Lee �Bill� Brewer and wife Becky of Rockingham, two daughters; Patsy Brewer Hodges and husband Gary of Granite Falls, Joyce Brewer Gabard and husband Bobby of Winston-Salem, six grandchildren; Jeffrey Seagle and wife Melody of Advance, NC, Amy Sue Hodges Abernathy and husband Barry of Granite Falls, Michael Wayne Hodges and wife Becky of Granite Falls, Jennie Brewer Long and husband Robert of Rockingham, NC, Lisa Hodges Craig of Granite Falls, and Joanna Seagle Staten and husband Ennis of El Cajon, CA, twelve great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren, one brother; Alfred Cole of Lenoir, four sisters; Beulah Cole Crotts and husband Albert of Lenoir, Grace Cole Vannoy and husband Charles of Boone, Marie Cole Brewer and husband Earl of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Virginia Cole Spears and special friend James Cochran of Lenoir, one brother in law; Lowell Cooke of Blowing Rock, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Cole Brewer will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Greenway Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Harold Bennett, Rev. Bud Russell and Rev. David Luster. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 o�clock until 2 at Greenway Baptist Church.
