Private services for Thomas M. Britton, Jr., 85, AND Virginia Golding Britton, 80, were held Saturday, June 19, 2010, in their home town of Marshall, TX in the Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Private services were also held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at their current residence of Linville, NC. Mr. Britton died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 and Mrs. Britton died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Linville, NC. Tom Britton, Jr., born January 31, 1925, in Marshall, TX, was the son of Thomas M. and Emma Britton. Ginny Britton, born October 17, 1929, in Oklahoma City, OK, was the daughter of Joseph and Lorene Golding. Tom and Ginny married in Marshall, TX, on October 26, 1947. They had been married for 63 years. Mr. Britton was the Executive V.P. of Stencel Aero Engineering of Asheville, NC. Tom and Ginny Britton lived in Asheville, NC for 30 years and then retired to Linville, NC for another 25 years. Survivors include their sons, Gary W. Britton of Asheville, NC and David Britton of Greensboro, NC; and their daughter, Susan Britton Overend of Greensboro, NC; and one granddaughter, Brittany Buchanan.
