Ralph Harbin Henson, age 91, of Bamboo Road, Boone, and the Davant Rehab & Extended Care Facility, died Thursday morning,December 6, 2007 at the Blowing Rock Hospital. Born April 8, 1916 in Watauga County, he was a son of Charles and Hattie Harbin Henson. Mr. Henson was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church and was a retired partner of Henson & Craig Builders.
Surviving are; his wife, Shirley Moody Henson; three sons, Jerry Ralph Henson and wife Sharon of West Jefferson, Wayne Harbin Henson and wife Carroll of St. Louis, Missouri and Larry Paul Henson of Boone; three grandsons, Chris Henson and wife Kim of Winston-Salem, Charles Andrew Henson of Kansas City, Kansas and Matthew Allen Henson of St. Louis, Missouri; one granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Henson of St. Louis, Missouri; and two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Kristen Henson, both of Winston-Salem.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Russell, Clyde, Ford, Vance, Harold and Allen Henson and four sisters, Edith Henson, Mabel Hollar, Lucy Storie and Myrtle Penley.
Graveside services for Ralph Harbin Henson will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock, officiated by Rev. Rudy Hayes.
