Obituary of Claire T. Suttle

Mrs. Claire Suttle, age 82, passed away peacefully March 26, 2008 in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born in Auburn, Alabama to Homer B. Tisdale and Roselle Wright Tisdale. She graduated from Auburn University in 1947 with a major in Home Economics. She served in the Army Medical Corps as a dietician where she met her husband of 42 years, Ben Suttle who preceded her in death in 1995. She was a homemaker for many years and served as the head of the Watauga High School Cafeteria and then as dietician at the Watauga County Hospital and then she worked with her husband at Suttle�s True Value Hardware. She was always active in her church. In Boone, they were members of the First Baptist Church where she was a youth leader for several years. They were also members of the Boone United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Homer B. Tisdale, Jr., a sister, Jule Flowers and a brother-in-law, Charles Flowers.
She is survived by her children; Barbara Joyce and husband David of High Point, Betsy Suttle of Los Angles, CA, and Ben Suttle and wife Anna of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Kathryn, Lindsey and Alec Suttle of Raleigh; a sister-in-law, Anna Bess Tisdale of Columbia, SC and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial for Mrs. Claire Suttle will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o�clock at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Bud Russell. The family respectfully requests no flowers, and suggests memorials to Watauga County Habitat for Humanity, Post Office Box 33DTS, Boone, NC 28607 or to a charity of the donor�s choice. Austin & Barnes Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Suttle family.
