Mr. Robert W. Canter, age 70, of Poplar Grove Road, Boone, died Wednesday morning, June 2, 2010 at Watauga Medical Center. Born October 19, 1939 in Bristol, Virginia, he was a son of the late Sherman and Florence Henderson Canter. Mr. Canter was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by two daughters; Kimberly Hall of Telford, Tennessee and Lori Denise Brainard of Phoenix, Arizona, one son; Mark Steven Canter of Vilas, 2 granddaughters; Jessica Munday and Leah Hall, 2 grandsons; Joshua Munday and Caleb Brainard, one sister, Dora Crook and husband Melvin of Chesapeake, Virginia and his former wife; Jean Canter of Boone. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sherman and Florence Henderson Canter, three sisters; Alma Rollins, Charlotte Warren and Nancy Presnell, and two brothers; J. W. Canter and Kenneth Canter.
