Imogene Bledsoe 'Jean' Foster, age 82, of Big Hill Road, Boone, died Thursday afternoon, May 6, 2010 at Watauga Medical Center. She was born
August 23, 1927 in Ashe County to Horton and Dora Houck Bledsoe. Mrs. Foster was a member of Meat Camp Baptist Church. She was employed as a sales associate at Belk.
Mrs. Foster is survived by one daughter, Karen Osborne and husband, Larry of Boone; one son, Bob Foster and wife Linda, of Seneca, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Brad Osborne and wife, Bunny, and Matthew Osborne, all of Boone, Elizabeth Vann and husband, Jason, of Dowling Park, Florida, Anna
Searles and husband, Rick, of Anderson, South Carolina, and Sarah Foster of
Jacksonville, Florida; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madeline Greer of King and Carolyn Miller of Winston-Salem, and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Maxann Ward and husband Randy of Mountain City, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Foster, one sister, Jo Norris, and one brother, Gilmer Bledsoe.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, May 10, 2010 at 1 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Townsend and Rev. Herbert McCoy. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be sent to the Meat Camp Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of Barry Greene, 527 Jack Hayes Road, Boone, NC 28607.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Austin & Barnes.
