James Edward 'ED' Kerley, age 74, of Ransom Street, Blowing Rock, died
Wednesday afternoon, March 24, 2010 at Blowing Rock Hospital. Born in Watauga County October 31, 1935, he was a son of the late Don and Bina Watson Kerley. Mr. Kerley was a 1959 graduate of Appalachian State University. He taught school for many years in Florida and was a US Air Force Veteran.
Mr. Kerley is survived by one son, Dr. Eric Kerley and wife, Ronni, of Morristown, TN; his former wife, Elizabeth Kerley of Orlando, Fl; his daughter-in-law, Nadine Kerley of Denver, CO; and twelve grandchildren, Ericah Colin Kerley, Summer Haven Kerley and Justice Kerley, all of Morristown, TN, Petrice, James, Abigail, Josiah, Anna, Jeremiah, Esther, Naomi Ruth and Isaiah Kerley, all of Denver, CO..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Kerley, one sister, Norma, six brothers, Jack, Larry, Kyle, Stuart, Gwynn and Tom Kerley.
Memorial services for Ed Kerley will be conducted Saturday evening at 7 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. T. J. Jackson. Burial will be in the Critcher Cemetery.
