Obituary of Richard A. Brannen

Mr. Richard Andrew Brannen, age 55, of Ivy Terrace Drive, Boone, died Monday, February 1, 2010 at Watauga Medical Center.
Born March 9, 1954 in Harrisburg, PA, he was a son of the late John W. Brannen, Jr. and Mary Depew Brannen Bruch. He was a disabled veteran of the US Army, having served in four years in Vietnam � receiving many honors and medals, he was an active honor guard for the Boone DAV and he worked as an apartment manager.
Surviving are: three children, Rodney Brannen, Randy Brannen and Rhonda Brannen all of Pennsylvania; his mother, Mary Brannen Bruch of Boone; one sister, Lucinda K. DeRitis of Ft. Meyers, Florida; three brothers, John Brannen, III of Zionville, Terry Lee Brannen of Red Hill, PA and Larry J. Brannen of Traverse, PA; and seven grandchildren all of PA.
Services for Mr. Richard Andrew Brannen will be conducted Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 2:00 PM at the Ivy Terrace Community Room, 206 Ivy Terrace Drive, Boone, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Sonny Younce.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans at PO Box 2914, Boone, NC. 28607.
