Obituary of Ruth G. Miller

Mrs. Ruth Greene Miller, age 89, of Milton Brown Heirs Road, died Thursday morning, December 31, 2009 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born January 11, 1920 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Canie and Bessie Smith Greene. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a member of Stony Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are: one son, Bobby Miller and wife Marie of Kearny, New Jersey, one daughter, Sue Watry of Tallahassee, Florida, four grandchildren; Matt, John and Joey Miller and Kelsey Watry, one brother, J. C. Greene and wife Dare of Deep Gap, and several nieces and nephews including Diane Brown and Betty Triplett. In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Miller, one brother, Joe Greene, and four sisters; Mabel Hawkins, Lucy Greene, Della Cheek, and Irene Clawson. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Greene Miller will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Stony Fork Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Vernon Eller and Rev. Billy Norris. Burial will follow in the Stony Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Austin & Barnes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 o'clock until 7:30 at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
