Obituary of Lena M. Norris

Lena Jane Main Norris, age 86, of Milton Moretz Road, Boone, died Thursday morning, December 24, 2009 at her home. She was born August 20, 1923 in Ashe County to Noah Sherman and Hettie Phillips Main. Mrs. Norris was a member of Bethelview United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and worked beside her husband for 63 years. Surviving are; her husband, Estle Norris; three daughters, Lynda Brown and husband, Gary and Caron Norris, all of Boone and Sheron Norris of Lenoir; two sisters, Beulah Harvey and husband, Lee, of Siler City and Jessie Cassavaugh and husband, John, of Lenoir; six grandchildren, Laura Crandall and husband, Rob, Lenore Jamison and husband, David, Lynette Hartley and husband, Eric, all of Boone, Leslie Lawrence and husband, Aaron, of Sugar Grove, Bridgette Haas and husband, Harold, of Lenoir and Shilohe Otto and husband, Justin, of Boone; and ten great-grandchildren, Lillie and Noah Jamison, Ethan and Eli Hartley, Grant and Gracie Lawrence, Autumn and Kaitlyn Haas, and Chase and Ryker Otto. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant brothers. Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Norris will be conducted Saturday afternoon January 2, 2010 at 2 o'clock at Bethelview United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 prior to the service at Bethelview United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Norris Tabernacle Cemetery.
