Mrs. Lillian Dixie Cornett Taylor, age 74, of Hattie Hill Road, Vilas, died Tuesday morning, December 22, 2009 at home. Born December 26, 1934 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Harley Marvin and Doxie Ward Cornett. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. She is survived by three brothers; Bill Cornett and wife Gladys, Beecher "Mull" Cornett and wife Vada all of Vilas, and Steve Cornett and wife Judy of Mountain City, two sisters; Annie Helberg of Wakefield, Michigan and Leta Abke of Conroe, Texas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Jack Taylor, one sister; Maxinne Cornett Burns, and three brothers; James Clinard Cornett, Dewey Cornett and Grover Ray Cornett. Graveside services and burial for Mrs. Dixie Cornett Taylor will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Green Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Eric Cornett.
