Obituary of Celia I. Guy

Mrs. Celia Icenhour Guy, age 94, of Milton Brown Heirs Road, Boone and a former resident of Zionville, died Wednesday morning, December 2, 2009 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born December 14, 1914 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Nancy Pennell Icenhour. Mrs. Guy was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
Surviving are; six daughters; Lucy Cassidy, Ruby Flores and Georgia Littlejohn all of Lenoir, Maggie Isaacs and husband Ned of Vilas, and Annie Guy and Willa Guy of Zionville, two sisters; Neeley Icenhour of Lenoir and Mary Ellison of Zionville, twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and 37 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Guy, her parents; Bill and Nancy Pennell Icenhour; and five children; Lexie Pelton, Estel Guy, Russell Guy, David Guy and Mary Sue Guy.
Funeral services for Mrs. Celia Icenhour Guy will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Terry Carver. Burial will follow in the Reece Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
