Obituary of Betty H. Greear

Betty Hagaman Greear, age 76, Silverstone Road, Zionville, died Wednesday evening, October 21, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She was born December 2, 1932 in the Zionville community to Rev. John and Nellie Wilson Hagaman. Mrs. Greear was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a retired retail sales clerk.
She is survived by; two sons, Stephen Greear and wife, Joanne, of Orlando, Florida and Zane Greear and wife, Kathy, of Woodstock, GA.,
two granddaughters, Rebecca Parent and husband, Theodore 'Vinnee', of Timberlake, NC and Stephanie Greear of Woodstock, Ga.; three sisters, Margaret Sipe of Zionville, Janice Ritenour and husband, Don, of Springfield, VA. and Barbara McElyea and husband, John, of Zionville;
and five brothers, Royce Hagaman and wife, Susan, of Huntersville, Rev. James Hagaman and wife, Mayselle, of Zionville, Jerry Hagaman and wife, Robyn, of Aiken, SC, David Hagaman of Zionville, and Terry Hagaman and wife, Sherrie, of Mooresboro. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Greear and one brother, Jack Hagaman.
Services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 31st at 2 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 2 o'clock, prior to services, at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, in care of Glenda Hodges, 810 Parkcrest Drive, Boone, NC 28607 or to the American Heart Association, Post Office box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
