Obituary of Beulah W. Greene

Beulah Edna Watson Greene, age 92, of Idlewild Road, Fleetwood, died Thursday evening, October 22, 2009, at Watauga Medical Center. She was born April 25, 1917 in Watauga County to Joe and Ellen Walker Watson. Mrs. Greene was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist since 1940. She enjoyed attending Church, travel, gardening, cooking, visiting family and friends and especially, celebrating her annual birthday and Christmas parties. Mrs. Greene retired from food services at Appalachian State University. She is survived by; five daughters, Ella Mae Mash and husband, Jay, and Ann Jordan, all of Deep Gap, Yvonne Worley and husband, Jim, of Fleetwood, Gayle Miller and husband, Bill, of Deep Gap, and Kathy Eller and husband, Doug, of West Jefferson; three sons, Loyd Greene and wife, Donna, of Lake Lure, Ira Greene and wife, Helen, and Rev. Randall Greene and wife, Sandra, all of Fleetwood; twenty-six grandchildren, Forty-three great- grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Sylvia Eller and husband, Kermit, of Lenoir and Evelee Spears, of Wilkesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Greene, three sisters, Goldie Holman, Julie Watson and Eula Robbins, and six brothers, Norman, Dallas, Levi, Nolan, Clarence and Leslie Watson, four grandsons, Johnny and Frankie Worley, Doyle Triplett and Michael Derrick Miller and one granddaughter, Tamara Ann Jordan. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday evening, October 25, at 7 o'clock at Mount Paran Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Rick Cornejo, Rev. Sherrill Wellborn and Rev. David Testerman. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock, prior to services, at the church. Graveside services will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o'clock at Mount Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.
