Rene Bledsoe Barnes, age 34, of Brady Lane, Deep Gap, died Monday evening, November 12th, 2007 at the Watauga Medical Center.
Born May 4, 1973 in Watauga County, she was the daughter of Jack William and the late Carolyn Norris Bledsoe. Mrs. Barnes was a graduate of Watauga High School (Boone) and Queens College in Charlotte. She was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church and retired as the Human Resource Coordinator for Watauga County.
Rene was the loving mother and wife of seven years to her husband Jody Edward Barnes and their children Maggie Carolyn and Mason Jack Bledsoe, all of the home; her father, Jack Bledsoe and his wife, Byrdette of Boone; one brother, Tim Bledsoe and wife Shelia of Boone; her maternal grandparents, Russell and Viola Norris of Boone; four nieces, Elise Bledsoe of Boone, Kalen Bolick of Conover and Lauren and Samantha Medlin, both of Cary; one step-brother, Jimmy Medlin and wife Wendy and one step-sister, Joanna Poole and husband Jonathan, all of Cary; her father-in-law, Jack Barnes of Hiddenite and her mother-in-law Martha Barnes of Claremont; one brother-in-law Mark Barnes of Claremont; one sister-in-law Jeannie Bolick and husband Terry of Conover; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends Jill Kubec of Asheville and Kelly Coffey of Wilkesboro.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Deerfield United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Jeff Sweeny. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12 until 2 o'clock, two hours prior to services, at the church. Entombment will follow at the Mount Lawn Memorial Park & gardens Mausoleum.
