Obituary of Carrie E. Shull

Carrie Edmisten Shull, age 93, of Rominger Street, Boone, died Saturday morning, October 17, 2009 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation. She was born October 3, 1916 in Watauga County to Robert Dallas and Stella Palmer Edmisten. Mrs. Shull was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Boone. She retired from TRW and taught lap quilting at the Watauga County and the Cove Creek Senior Centers.
Surviving are her husband, James D. Shull; one daughter, Betty Shull Dishman and husband Bruce, of Sugar Grove; two grandchildren, Preston James Dishman and wife Nicole of San Mateo, California and Marcie Ann Dishman of Sanford; one brother, Robert Dallas Edmisten, Jr. and wife June of Roan Mountain, Tennessee; one sister, Lillie Walsh of Church Hill, Tennessee; and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Howard, Jay and Bealer Edmisten and three sisters, Lula Banner, Leola Phillips and Mollie Baird.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon October 20th at 2 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ray Greene, Rev. Jerry Shull and Rev. Frank Pope. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until 2 o'clock, prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Entombment will follow at the Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens Mausoleum.
