Mrs. Lucie Block de Ruyter, age 85, of Blowing Rock and a former resident of Joe Shoemaker Road, Vilas, died Saturday evening at Blowing Rock Hospital.
Surviving are five children; Maryke Schooler of Indiana, Ellen Forbes of New York, Lydia de Ruyter of Seattle, Washington, Paul de Ruyter of Massachusetts, and Nancy Crowell of Boone, seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William de Ruyter.
Memorial services for Mrs. Lucie de Ruyter will be held Saturday, November 7 beginning at 1:30 at the Hope Christian Fellowship Church on State Farm Road with Harvey Bauman officiating.
