Obituary of Mandy B. Norris

Mandy Brown Norris, age 80, of Monteagle Drive, Boone, died Thursday morning, September 17, 2009 at her home. She was born February 7, 1929 in Watauga County to Jim and Pansy Potter Brown. Mrs. Norris was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church and retired from TRW of Boone. She is survived by; her beloved husband of 55 years, Ray C. Norris; four daughters, Linda Nadeau and husband Keith, of Lenoir, Betty Brown and Kathy Hayes and husband, David, all of Boone, and Susan McDaris and husband, Ed, of Morganton; seven grandchildren, Lonnie Price and wife, Drema, of Creston, Amanda Norman and husband, Jake, of Matney, Junior Holman and wife, Julie, of Boone, Crystal Cheek and husband, James, of Marion, Va., and Michael and Michelle Brown, and Chris Hayes and wife, Kendra, all of Boone; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Sarah Greene of Deep Gap; one brother, Charlie Brown of Granite Falls; one brother-in-law, D. J. Norris of Boone; and three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Norris of Boone, and Thelma and Nell Brown, both of Creston. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, September 19th at 11 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. T. J. Jackson, Dr. Sonny Younce and Rev. Eric Proffit. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 until 11 o'clock, prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens. Memorial donations may be sent to the family in care of Austin & Barnes - 194 Queen Street, Boone. The family will be at the home of Kathy and David Hayes, 326 Milton Brown Heirs Road in Boone.
