Gregory Charles Cairns, age 61, of Seven Devils Road, Banner Elk, the Foscoe community, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 19th, 2013. Greg owned and operated the Grandview Restaurant in Foscoe for more than 30 years.
Mr. Cairns is survived by his wife, Debra Barker Cairns; son, Charles Logan Cairns of Banner Elk; daughter, Leigh Ann Pozell and husband, Joseph, of Greensboro; two brothers, Michael Cairns of Florida, and Jack Cairns of Canada; and four sisters, Carol Price, Sandra Turtle, and Kim Wareham, all of Canada, and Gerri Robinson of Seattle, Washington. A number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A celebration of life service for Gregory Charles Cairns will be conducted Monday afternoon, September 23rd, at 3 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 until 3 o'clock, one hour prior to services, at Austin & Barnes.
