Mr. George Clayton Trivette, Sr., age 76, of NC 88, Zionville, died Saturday morning, November 3, 2007 at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. Born April 20, 1931, in Watauga County, he was a son of the late Dewey Clayton and Mary Ella Snyder Trivette. Mr. Trivette was a manager with both Blue Ridge Shoe and Timberland Shoe Company. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and Army and was a member of Zionville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Wilson Trivette, three daughters; Karen Main and Georgia Potter and husband Gene all of Zionville, and Lucretia Dalton of Jamestown, NC, three sons, George C. Trivette, Jr., Jim Pierce of Wilmington, Will Pierce and wife Margaret of Vilas, twelve grandchildren; Ian Main, Jody Corum, T. J. Corum, Pam Corum, Brandi Swain, Kevin Swain and wife Meleah, Jake Dalton, Suiter Pierce, Fields Pierce, Christine, Pierce, Evalyn Pierce and Danielle Pierce, three great grandchildren, Clay Corum, Ethan Swain and Giorgiannah Corum, two sisters; Cora Leigh Oliver and Pauline Roark and husband Joe all of Creston and one brother; Bert Trivette and wife Janette of Mountain City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Mahala Trivette, one brother, Glenn Trivette and one sister, Mae Sutherland.
Funeral services for Mr. George Clayton Trivette, Sr. will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Zionville Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Carl Johnson. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Watauga Dialysis Center, Post Office Box 2600, Boone, NC 28607 or to the Watauga Hunger Coalition, 417 Meadowview Drive, Boone, NC 28607.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
