Mrs. Addie Presnell Danner, age 102, of 211 Milton Brown Heirs Road, Boone, and formerly of Greer Road, Vilas, died Friday afternoon, April 24, 2009 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born December 26, 1906 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Etta Isaacs Presnell. Mrs. Danner was a homemaker a former teacher at Liberty Hill School. She attended East Carolina Teacher's College. She was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Surviving are nine children; Oscar G. Danner, Jr. and wife Lillian, of Vilas, Houston Danner of Zionville, Betty Burleson and husband Scott of Boone, Barbara Cox and husband Dewitt of Deep Gap, Johnny Danner of Monroe, Harold Danner and wife Brenda of Zionville, Bettina Ward and husband Jackie of Vilas, Diane Burchill and husband Monte of Concord Township, Ohio and Terry Danner and wife Susan of Morganton, twenty four grandchildren and an number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Oscar G. Danner, Sr., one son; Kenneth Danner, one granddaughter; Anita Cowan, two sisters; Ruth Greer and Flo Taylor, and three brothers; Houston, Burette and Joseph Presnell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Presnell Danner will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o\'clock at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, officiating will be Rev. Wynn Greer, Rev. Burl Greer and Rev. Carl Wilson. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, in care of James Hayes, 831 Bairds Creek Road, Vilas, NC 28692. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon prior to the service from 1 until 3 o\'clock at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
