Obituary of Gary L. Deitz

Gary Lewis Deitz, age 55, of Slabtown Road, Zionville, died Friday, April 17, 2009. Gary was born October 20, 1953 in Caldwell County to Curtis and Bernice Carlton Deitz. He owned and operated Deitz Wholesale Cars and Truck in Zionville. Mr. Deitz is survived by; his wife, Denise Ward Deitz, two sons, Cory Deitz, of Zionville, and Tanner Deitz, of the home, four brothers, John Deitz and wife, Alice, of Granite Falls, Frank Deitz and wife, Lisa, of Davis, California, Roger Deitz and wife, Vickie, of Great Falls, Montana, and Eddie Deitz and wife, Carolyn, of Hudson, two sisters, Sarah Raphael and husband, Alan, of Buckeye, Arizona, and Deborah Watts and husband, Lester, of Lenoir, his mother-in-law, Jean Ward of Sugar Grove, and two brothers-in-law, Steve Ward of Boone and Randy Ward and wife, Maxanne, of Mountain City, Tennessee. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Lackey, and his father-in-law, Rev. Cannon Ward. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Willowdale Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Eugene Braswell and Rev. Delmar James. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from noon until 2 o'clock, prior to services, at the church. Burial will follow in the Willow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
