Obituary of Gene R. Miller

Mr. Gene Roy Miller, age 68, of Cajah Mountain Road, Hudson, died Monday morning, April 6, 2009 at Camelot Manor. Born March 5, 1941 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Clyde William and Beulah Kirby Miller. Mr. Miller was retired from Caldwell Freight Lines where he worked as a mechanic. Gene was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and was a life long resident of Caldwell County. Surviving are; his wife, Connie Gantt, two sons; Dwayne Miller and wife Lori of Boone, William Mark Miller and wife Michella of Taylorsville, three granddaughters; Allison and Ava Rose Miller of Boone and Catlyn Miller of Taylorsville, one brother, Troy Miller of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and one sister, Joyce Gilbert of Lenoir. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, C. W. Miller and Ray Miller. Funeral services for Mr. Gene Roy Miller will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Mount. Zion Baptist Church in Hudson. Officiating will be Rev. John Greene. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Zion Baptist Church Bus Fund, 1787 Cajah Mountain Road, Hudson, NC 28638. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 o'clock at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
