Obituary of Darold L. Hedrick

Mr. Darold Lee �Pop� Hedrick, age 80, of 211 Milton Brown Heirs Road, Boone, died Monday evening, March 16, 2009 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born May 29, 1928 in St. Cloud, Florida, he was a son of the late Lemmon and Cecil Marie Cottrell Hedrick. Mr. Hedrick was a member and deacon at Three Forks Baptist Church. �Pop� was a WWII Navy Veteran and was retired from Vermont American. Surviving are: one son, Mike Hedrick and wife Delores of Boone, three grandchildren; Jonathan Hedrick and Jack Hackney of Boone and Laura Hackney of Wilmington, and one sister; Anne Carter of St. Cloud, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemmon and Cecil Marie Cottrell Hedrick, his wife, Zela Agnes Gragg Hedrick, one daughter Jeanette Hedrick Davis and two brothers Lewis and Bert Hedrick. Funeral services for Mr. Darold Lee �Pop� Hedrick will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1 o�clock at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Eric Proffit and Rev. Rick Critcher. The body will lie in state at the church from noon until 1 o�clock. Military Graveside Rites and burial will follow in the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
