Obituary of Ted W. Potter

Mr. Ted Ward Potter, age 60, of the Meat Camp Community, died Wednesday morning, February 11, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Born in the Meat Camp Community of Watauga County June 4, 1948, he was a son of the late Ted R. and Anner Main Potter. Mr. Potter attended Faith Baptist Church and was a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife; Bernice Miller Potter, one daughter, Jan Greer and husband Tim of Creston, three sons; Jeff and Jonathan Potter of the home and Kevin Potter and wife Margaret of Boone, 8 grandchildren; Nancy Greer of Creston, Felicia Potter of Boone, Timmy, Josh and Zachary Greer of Creston, Travis, Keith, and Tyler Potter of Carter County, Tennessee, four sisters; Nell Proffit, Pearlee Potter, Emmer Potter and Bonnie Potter all of Todd and two brothers; Coolidge Potter of Gladespring, Virginia, and Ervin Potter and wife Zelma of Todd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, one granddaughter; Chelsea Potter, his father in law Charles Miller, two sisters, Alberta Arnold and Lidia Moretz, and two brothers; Hoover and Boyd Potter.
Funeral services for Mr. Ted Ward Potter will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Faith Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Sonny Younce. The body will lie in state at the church from noon until 1 o'clock. Burial will follow in the Charles Miller Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charles Miller Family Cemetery in care of Jan Greer, 1615 Sutherland Road, Creston, NC 28615.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at the residence, 4636 Meat Camp Road, Todd.
