Obituary of Lester N. Trivette

Lester Newland Trivette, age 59, of Russ Norris Road, Elk Park, died Saturday morning, January 24, 2009 at his home. He was born November 5, 1949 in Avery County to Judson Newland and Elsie Harmon Trivette. Lester was a farmer and rock mason and was a member of Flat Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Trivette is survived by; his wife, Wanda Moody Trivette of Elk Park; one daughter, Lena Trivette of Newland; one son, Michael Trivette of Banner Elk; eight grandchildren, Daniel Trivette, Brandon Trivette, Brittany Brewer, Stacie Brewer, Tristan Rustrian and Kara Rustrian, all of Newland, Meranda Trivette of Banner Elk and Garrett Ray of Johnson City, Tennessee; and two sisters, Lenia Vell Trivette and Evanelle Thomas, both of Zionville. He is also survived by his friend, Mary Shoemaker of Banner Elk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Reed and Gene Trivette and one sister, June Taylor.
Funeral services for Lester Newland Trivette will be conducted Monday evening at 7:30 at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dean Estep. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 until 7:30, prior to services, at the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Harmon Cemetery in Elk Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Watauga County Unit of the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 1903, Boone, NC 28607.
