Sheron Kate Sha-Sha Winebarger, age 60, of Deep Gap, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019.
Known to many as “Sha Sha,” Sheron Kate Winebarger was born June 28, 1958 in Caldwell County, NC to the late Bradley Garland and Hilda Campbell Hensley. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, generosity, delicious home cooked meals, and big heart. She always looked out for her neighbors, especially the elderly or sick ones in need. She worked as a CNA and home health aide for many years and took great pride in helping the elderly and homebound.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dickie Miller, and second husband of 31 years, David “Dave” Winebarger, stepgrandson Justin Shepherd, stepgranddaughter Ashley Miller, grandson Hazen Woodring, and stepdaughter Pam Miller. Also preceded in death were her brothers Ricky Lyda, Randy Garland, and her sisters Janice Martin and Lisa Triplett, and special friends Cordelia “Mam” and John “Pap” Hayes.
She is survived by her son, Chris Miller, wife Vickie and son Braylen, of Roan Mountain, TN, daughter Jennifer Miller of Creston, stepson Timothy Miller of Deep Gap, stepdaughter Lisa Nagel of Knoxville, TN, sisters Rita Miller of Deep Gap and Tammy Garland of West Jefferson, brothers Lentz and JD Lyda of Granite Falls, Josh Triplett of Chuckey, TN, and Robert Foster of Damascus, VA, stepgrandsons James Miller of Todd and Cody Shepherd of Taylorsville, and special niece Lydia Miller of Deep Gap, special bonus brothers Bob Hayes of Morganton and William Fred “Cooter” Hayes of Hickory.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in FaithBridge United Methodist Church in Blowing Rock. Pastor Ben Carson will officiate.
