Obituary of Buck Robbins

Mr. Willis Councill �Buck� Robbins, age 83, of Boone, passed away Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013 at Watauga Medical Center. Born in Watauga County July 5, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank Robbins and Alice Councill Robbins. Buck attended Appalachian State Teacher College and North Carolina State University. He was a US Air Force Veteran, and was a retired Design Engineer for TT Electronics (TRW/IRC). Buck was an active member of Boone United Methodist Church for over 50 years; having served in many church offices. He was a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop 109, served on the Watauga County Board of Education, member of the Masonic Snow Lodge, and President of Watauga Little League for 8 years. Buck was a Christmas tree and shrubbery farmer. He is survived by his wife Mae Tucker Robbins, one son; Councill Robbins and wife Deborah of High Point, two grandchildren; Will and Madison Robbins of High Point, and a number of nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Buck Robbins will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Boone United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Jason Byassee, Rev. Jeff McClain and Rev. Gerald Hodges. Burial with military honors provided by American Legion Post 130 will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 o�clock at Boone United Methodist Church.
