Obituary of Don Frank Brown

Don Frank Brown, age 70, of Cobbs Creek Road, Boone, was called home to be with God, after his battle with cancer, surrounded by family and loved ones on July 22, 2018 at Caldwell Hospice in Lenoir. Born February 5, 1948 in Watauga County, he was a son of Stewart and Belle Blackburn Brown. Mr. Brown was an electrician before retiring from ASU in Zone Maintenance. Don was a proud and humble man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, truly enjoyed being outdoors, and was a great story teller. He is survived by his companion of more than 30 years, Charlotte Dunn of Boone; son, Don Alan Brown of Cleveland, NC and his significant other, Sarah Sawyer and her daughter, Taryn Assunta Sawyer Deane; daughters, Donnette Brown Harris and husband, Robbie, of Cleveland, NC and Hannah Renee Brown of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jacob Harris of Cleveland, NC and Tiffany Miranda Brown and David Austin Brown, both of Catawba, NC; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and his dog and faithful friend, Buddy. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, July 28, at 2 o’clock, at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Townsend. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock, prior to services, at Austin & Barnes.
