Obituary of Danny S. Wilson

Mr. Danny Sparks Wilson, age 69, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away after a short illness on January 25th at Carolinas Medical Center.
Mr. Wilson was born December 26, 1948, in Boone, North Carolina, a son of the late Jerry H. Wilson and Glenna Sparks Wilson. He was a 1967 graduate of Watauga High School in Boone, and graduated from Appalachian State University with a BA in 1972. Danny was an employee of Tandy Corporation and of the United States Postal Service before his retirement.
Mr. Wilson is survived by a son, Daniel A. Doyle and wife, Amena; and grandson, Trevor Doyle; all of Ridgewood, New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Judi Wilson Bishop; and his stepmother, Marie Rogers Wilson.
A memorial service for Mr. Danny Sparks Wilson will be conducted Saturday afternoon, May 5, 2018, at 2:00 oclock, at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, 194 Queen Street, in Boone. Officiating will be Reverend Roy Dobyns. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 oclock. Interment will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Rise Up Campaign, 375 West King Street, Boone, NC 28607.
