Jerry Paula Landt, 73, passed away on April 15, 2018 in Boone, North Carolina surrounded by her husband, sister and niece. Jerry was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on September 10, 1944 to Paul and Eleanor Swanson who preceded her in death. Jerry grew up in Falmouth Foreside, Maine where she attended the Falmouth schools then graduated from The Waynflete School in Portland, Maine. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Record Technology from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire in 1966. She worked as the manager of the Medical Record Transcription department at Penrose-St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Jerry was a person who liked everyone and because of her warm smile, sparkling eyes, beautiful face and radiant personality was, in turn, liked by all. Jerry enjoyed riding her horse in Texas and hiking and skiing in the mountains of Colorado. She became an accomplished amateur figure skater in Colorado Springs. One of her biggest passions was knitting and not a day went by that she didnt knit projects for friends and family.
She also loved raising and training her three Golden Retrievers. Jerry was a ten year breast cancer survivor and volunteered several years for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
She is survived by her husband Jim Landt of Boone, her sister Dorothy Taylor and husband Elmer of Houston, Texas, her niece Audra Thompson and husband John and their daughters Lily and Kennedy, all of Valle Crucis, N.C., and sister-in-law Jackie Toole and husband Bruce of Lancaster, S.C.
Jerry was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, great aunt, and sister-in-law. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at a future family reunion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
