Mr. Roland Harry "Matt" Mattoon, age 66, of Rembrandt Drive, Boone, passed away at home Friday July 12, 2013. Born July 12, 1947 in East Orange, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Gordon D and Dorothy Cheeseman Mattoon. Matt was a US Navy Veteran, having served his country 20 years. He was an Electrical Engineer by trade and enjoyed traveling and NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his wife; Linda Scott Mattoon, one son; David Mattoon and wife Susan, two grandsons; John and Matthew Mattoon all of Temecula, California, one sister, Patti Roy and husband Jim of Mayetta, NJ, and one sister in law; Jean Lendvay and husband Gregory of Dallas, Texas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Merle Waldo and Lynn Finkelday and two brothers; Gordon and Robert "Bobby" Mattoon.
